Flowers are the most common gift in life, from special occasions to banal moments. Whether you choose an engagement bouquet, graduation bouquet or a beautiful bouquet on the coffee table, you want to enjoy your flowers as long as possible. Bouquets full of vibrant flowers light up a room and leave an impression long after they have been removed. Unfortunately, the harvest of bouquets does not last forever.

There are positive, practical guidelines and well-known tricks you can use to ensure the longevity of your flowers. Use the tips in this article to make your blooms last longer from the start. The first step to keep your flowers fresh is to follow a few instructions on how to care for them. We have learned as much as we can about the conservation of flowers by testing theories.

One of the most common mistakes people make when they receive flowers is not cutting the stem properly. If the stem at the bottom of the vase is not flat, cut it at an angle to allow better water absorption. Cut one to two centimetres off the trunk with secateurs.
Cut your bouquet again a few days after the first cut. Cut the tree to remove fallen leaves and branches. The pruning not only improves the quality of your bouquets, but also prevents bacterial growth.

Check your flowers every day after the first cut for dead or loose leaves and petals to avoid bacterial rot. Keep the petals, which are the two or three outermost petals of a flower, such as a rose. Remove them before your flowers can open.

When using water, it is important not to hydrate the bouquet. Their flowers perish if they are not watered after the stems have been cut. Choose a vase and fill it with room temperature water and a packet of flower food. It is a good idea to clean the vase every two to three days and fill the water with food. Assess whether the food is mixed with the water and not diluted or condensed.

Flowers are the last place in a cool room. Direct sunlight, humidity and draughts from fruits are things to avoid. Showing flowers in direct sunlight or near heat-generating devices is not recommended. Open windows, heating and cooling openings and ceiling fans must also be avoided as they dry out the flowers. Stop putting your bouquets and berries outside.
Ripe fruits emit traces of ethylene gas, which can reduce the lifespan of your fresh arrangements. As a home remedy, you should add pennies, aspirin or vodka to your flowering water.

Two tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar and sugar: Mix 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons water and place the flowers in a vase.

Vinegar has an antibacterial effect, while sugar provides the flowers with additional nutrients. Apple cider vinegar and sugar didn’t win the ‘worst result’ trophy, but they came in second place.
Aspirin is a form of medication. It is believed to lower the pH of the water, allowing it to move through the flowers and prevent wilting. Crush an aspirin and put it in the aspirin vase with the fresh flowers.

Using of Bleach

Putting 1.4 teaspoons of bleach in a vase of fresh flowers helps keep the flowers longer, according to experts. The bleach will help keep the water in the vase from becoming cloudy, and it will also make a difference whether the bouquet stays fresh. Bleach helps to keep water clean and helps fight bacteria.
